The Path to Truth

Proverbs 1:1-5 The proverbs of Solomon son of David, king of Israel:for gaining wisdom and instruction; for understanding words of insight; for receiving instruction in prudent behavior, doing what is right and just and fair; for giving prudence to those who are simple, knowledge and discretion to the young let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance. I asked my kids yesterday as we were discussing an issue how they knew what they were saying to be true, they replied with various answers, but it led to a discussion about how we can know what is true. The above verses Solomon exhorts his readers that Proverbs is for gaining wisdom and instruction and so on. The Word of God is truth without any error and what it says we can trust. Another words for me if God's Word says it then that settles it and what I need to do is align my thinking with God's Word not the other way around. Today in our culture the later part of what I just said is becoming more and more true. Its sad but instead of leading to the above things that Solomon said this kind of practice is leading to foolishness, lack of understanding. I love how one of the mantra's of being PC is unity, peace and harmony. However what I see is completely opposite of that, why because the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom, so I believe its safe to say that disregard of God is the beginning of foolishness. If we think we can have love, peace, unity apart from God then we are sadly mistaken. Why? Because God is love, God is peace, God is unity and to experience these we must experience God. Father help me to pursue you today, help me to be an expression of your love today so that others might see you in me.
